My passion in studying and understand products really began within Madewell’s doors. Although this brand has 143 stores throughout the United States, Madewell heavily practices sustainable, ethical fashion. This business also sources and incorporates small-business products within its’ inventory. I learned the importance of transparency within a product, and truly understanding how products were made from start to finish. Conveying this information to customers was the icing on the cake.

I developed my skill in merchandising within this position. Looking at spreadsheets to see what’s products are moving and where. Redesigning the store layout by tailoring it to my customers and their regional preferences. I gained a strong understanding of the psychology of purchase. Event planning was another position I held at Madewell. I researched and contacted local makers to host pop-up events in the store. I learned the importance of networking throughout the community. I am still in contact with a lot of those makers, today.

I loved my time at Madewell and I’ve taken everything I have learned from this job and applied it throughout all aspects of my life.

-Store sales growing 35% between 2019-2020

-Store sales growing 12% between 2020 - 2021

-Increased Event Sales by 23%,

-Increased “New-Makers” by 55%
